Surprise proposals · blind shoots
You say it. I'll catch the rest.
A surprise proposal only happens once, and you'll never remember what you looked like in it. Let me be in the corner of the picture so you can just be in the moment.
How it works
One secret, two halves
The first half is the moment itself — the question, the face, the yes. The second half is everything after: the crying, the calling your mum, the toast you didn't plan. I shoot both, and you get a gallery that tells the whole story instead of one posed picture.

How the surprise goes down
I
We plan it in secret
You tell me the plan — or we build one together. Where you'll ask, when the light is best, and what you'll both wear.
II
I hide
I arrive early and get into position. You'll get a quiet signal that I'm rolling, and they'll have no idea.
III
You ask
The ring, the shake in your hands, the answer. I shoot the whole thing without stepping into it.
IV
The after
We stay for the hugs, the toast, the disbelief. That half is usually the best half.

Good to know
Questions people ask
Will they know I'm there?
No. I arrive before you, stay out of the frame, and keep quiet until the moment has passed. Most people have no idea until they see the photos.
What if they say no?
It almost never happens — and if it does, you still get your photos, and no one else ever sees them.
Do you help with the plan?
Yes. Where to stand, when to kneel, what to do with your hands, and a signal for when to start. I've done blind shoots before and I love them.
What if it rains?
We move to a covered spot nearby or pick a new date — no charge, no stress.
How soon do we see them?
A few sneak peeks within 48 hours so you can tell people, and your full gallery in about two weeks.
Not ready to pick a date? Tell me the month and I'll hold the idea for you.
